The Purple Heart award differs from all other decorations. The armed service to get this recognition has different criteria as well. In addition, not more than one award will be made for more than one injury or lesion acknowledge at the same time. As one of the criteria, the service staff to get this recognition must have an injury to any part of the body from an agent or outside force unrelenting under one or more of the conditions listed. Even though a body lesion is not a requisite, the wound acquired must required treatment by a medical officer. Records of medical treatment for injuries or wounds are also mandatory.
